2025 Season




As of Tuesday 6 May 2025, Shelburne's Museums by the Sea - the Shelburne County Museum, the Dory Shop Museum and the Ross-Thomson House & Store Museum, as well as our gift shop - are open for general admission.


Our business hours are:

Tuesday - Saturday

9 am - 4 pm


Please note that we will be closed on the following dates:

Saturday 17 May

Tuesday 1 July

Saturday 2 August

Saturday 30 August

Our last day open this season will be Saturday 27 September 2025.

The Shelburne Historical Society is located on Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq,  in the District of Kespukwitk, home to Acadia First Nation.  

We are all Treaty people.
We also honour and acknowledge the 400 year history, contribution and legacy of African Nova Scotian people and communities.
