Pull! Pull! Pull!

Row A Dory

Board a dory and imagine yourself in a sou'wester, pulling on the oars in the days of the schooner.

You're out there on the sprawling continental shelf - the Grand Banks, George's, Brown and Baccaro Banks, or closer to home Roseway Bank. Fishermen launched the iconic Shelburne dory from fishing schooners a hundred miles offshore.

The men handlined for cod until the gunwales sat low in the sea. They'd row back through fog or wind or rain to unload their catch, then head out again.

Dory rides are available certain special events and weekends.  Please refer to our Program and Events Calendar for dates and times.
