Let the wind breathe life into your creation
Build A Whirligig

Unleash the folk artist in you. Put your hand to painting and assembling your very own vibrantly coloured, whimsical whirligig.
Take it home to give your yard that Nova Scotia look. Traditionally found in front yards all over the province, the whirligig is signature Nova Scotian folk art.
And Shelburne is home to the annual fall Whirligig and Weathervane Festival - Canada's only - when the waterfront fills with these little wind machines.
Whirligig making workshops held regularly all summer long at the Dory Shop Museum, part of the Nova Scotia Museum family. Please refer to our Program and Events Calendar for workshop dates and availability.
To register for a workshop contact 902-875-3219 or shelburne.museum@ns.sympatico.ca.
Special workshops held during the Shelburne County Lobster Festival in June and the Whirligig Festival in September.
